I know very little about Carbon Lighthouse, other than their unique non-profit business model, that sequesters carbon production at the source, preventing CO2 from entering the atmosphere, rather than removing it from the air after some carbon fueled power emitter has already further damaged our environment.
It costs Carbon Lighthouse $18 per ton to bid successfully in the Federal Carbon Certificate program.
CL keeps records of each 1 Ton CO2 certificate, and the certificates can never be sold or used. It seems more efficient to prevent emissions rather than recapturing the CO2 after the damage is done.
The CL web site makes it easy to purchase Carbon Certificates through several plans.
I often spend at least $18 at Starbucks for two coffees and snacks. I am going to purchase two 1 Ton CO2 certificates monthly, which is about our current monthly carbon footprint.
We already have Arcadia Power carbon neutral electric power.
What if everyone did this, getting around politics and profits? How quickly would humanity transform the energy market? Something governments have failed to accomplish.
Try being part of the solution.
It's easy.
No up-front costs, no contracts.
You can be totally carbon neutral.

Disclaimer: I have no interests in these companies. I think they offer immediate solutions that can be scaled to have a huge impact on the current foundering reclamation of the planet.
What if Longboat Key became known as a carbon neutral community?
